Privacy Statement Policy

1. Introduction

1.1 The purpose of this policy is to set a standard for Privacy statement to be used on Australian National 4WD Radio Network Inc. and VKS-737 Network (hereafter referred to as “the Network”) documents, forms and letters.

1.2 This policy is based on the National Privacy Principles as outlined in the Privacy Act 1998 (Act No. 119 of 1998) and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (Act No. 155 of 2000) and is to be read in conjunction with:
1.2.1 POLICY 02 – Privacy Code of Practice.
1.2.2 POLICY 13 – Confidentiality of Information Policy.

2. Definitions.

“Administration Manager” means the Administration Manager employed by the VKS-737 Radio Network.
“Australian National 4WD Radio Network Inc.” means the Australian National 4WD Radio Network Inc. a Prescribed Association registered in accordance with the Associations Incorporations Act (SA) 1985 with the Office of Business and Consumer Affairs in the State of South Australia, and a Public Benevolent Institution and Charity registered with the Australian Taxation Office.
“Base Station Operator” means a duly authorised operator of a VKS-737 Network Base Station.
“Callsign” means the official VKS-737 Callsign issued to a subscriber by VKS-737 Head Office.
“Committee member” means a duly elected member of the Committee of the Australian National 4WD Radio Network
Inc.
“entities” means any agency, body, authority, police force or service, of the Commonwealth, a State or Territory which (among other things) is responsible for administering or performing a function under a law that:

Administers the use of Radiocommunication services within the Commonwealth of Australia.
Administers the use of Telecommunications services within the Commonwealth of Australia.
Provides emergency assistance to individuals or organisations.
Administers the coordinating of emergency service assistance to individuals or organisations.
Administers the conducting of criminal investigations or inquiries, or the protection of the public revenue.
Administers the collection of taxation within the Commonwealth of Australia.
Administers regulations relating to the operation of businesses, companies and associations either within the Commonwealth of Australia or within individual States of Australia or Territories.

“Head Office” means the Head Office of the VKS-737 Radio Network.
“subscriber” means any individual who is an on-going financial subscriber of the VKS-737 Radio Network.
“Network” means the Australian National 4WD Radio Network Inc. and/or the VKS-737 Radio Network.
“Selcall” means the official VKS-737 Selcall Number issued to a subscriber by the VKS-737 Head Office.
“VKS-737 Radio Network” means the VKS-737 Radio Network, a business registered with Office of Business and Consumer Affairs in the State of South Australia.
“website” means the official website(s) of the VKS-737 Radio Network.

3. Privacy Statements

3.1 Privacy Statement 1. – For use on Licence Authority Application and Renewal Forms

Privacy Statement:
The information on this form is collected and stored for the management of the Network and its activities. It will be used by Head Office Staff, and portions may also be provided to Committee members and Base Station Operators from time-to-time when necessary for carrying out Network duties or activities. Some details may also be provided to other entities (eg Emergency Services Organisations) in relation to Network activities. ONLY your Name(s), Callsign & Selcall Details will be published in the Network User lists, both in printed form and on our website. No other details will be published.
