Ken Metcalfe (0002) from Alice Springs Base has been awarded the Bushfires Northern Territory Volunteer Long & Meritorious Service Medal.

Ken has been fighting fires for around fifty years, joining the NSW fire service in December 1958. After NSW he spent nine years as a fire-fighter Elcho Island and was a founding member of the Alice Springs Volunteer Bushfire Brigade around fourteen years ago.
